Now its not often I find things like this funny - but I think there's a lot of hard work gone into this! Its follow up is equally as good.

The play wot Richard Directed in March - Much Ado About Nothing - by some bloke called Shakespere I understand! is in line for 3 awards from the local Arts Council - Best Production, Technical Achievement and Best Actor - we're just not sure who the Best Actor is being offered to!

I am so excited for him but who knows, role on the 27th October to find out - the only trouble with that of course is that its during the run of Are You Being Served? so he can't actually go because he will be on stage!

You are The Lovers

Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.

The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.

Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.

TV

Sep. 6th, 2008 | 09:33 pm
mood: crappy crappy

I wish there was something else on other than bloody reality TV - tonight its X Factor AND Euro Dance vision or what ever its called. I thought my TV viewing would get better with Big Brother ending last night - but no the rest of the family have to sit and laugh at people humilitating themselves in front of 4 idiot judges.

Now its Graham Norton's turn to pretend he is a grown up presenter instead of his normal subverive self.

I have tried asking to watch something else and I get the moronic slack eyed look of tv hypnotisim.

Boring boring boring, and they wonder why I hide in the dining room all evening.

I have been doing this monthly scrap journal, once a month we all trot out and take pictures as advised by the prompt that pops up in the e-mail and then either the day before the 25th or on the 25th we get a prompt with a layout idea. This month nothing. I know the woman who is doing it is very very busy - getting wed soon - but shouldn't she have got this done by now?????

Scrap YourDay

Aug. 25th, 2008 | 02:12 am

I've been taking part in the UK Scrappers Scrap Your Day 2008 project. On the 25th of each month you take a shit load of photos and then following Shielle's prompts you do a layout.

Well once again its the 25th tomorrow, or should I say now, because I havent been sent this months prompt full of what we are supposed to be doing I suppose I shall go my own way again! Still sometimes thats the best way to carry on.

I look forward to taking a picture of Joseph kneeling on a chair in his sisters room searching for things he shouldn't look at on the internet.

Oh happy days

Well I've had a nice first day of my holiday - doing sweet FA - sat and watched the Olympics all night and most of today :)

Technically my holiday started yesterday but I had to go into work to show the temp what to do and to have lunch with my team. We went to Nandos and I had a portabellow mushroom and slices of halumi in a pitta bread which was quite nice

I got Brownie points because the big boss came in whilst I was there!

I was going to buy myself Saturns Children by Charles Stross tomorrow but having seen the cover its hardly something i can sit and read on the 492 to work in the morning. When are these idiots in publishing houses going to do their authors the service of letting their work sell itself. I do not want some cyber tart with her tits hanging out on my book covers thank you.

Here endth the 44 year old female sci fi fans rant.

On a lighter note I am taking Joe to the flicks tomorrow -I want to see The Mummy Part 3 - mainly because its got Jet Li in it, he wants to see Kung Fu Panda or The Clone Wars. Now if I can convience Richard to take the kids to either one of those I could go into the Gallery at Blue Water and get waiter service whilst watching the mummy.....

I have just discovered my flickr account is a "Pro" account which means I can upload more than I thought, so I am going to use it for all the old family photocs - parents backwards and have a set for my ATCs I think. I may put up some other things like scrapbooking or lace I've made I haven't decided yet.

Ella is wandering around in a pair of my boots - she doesn't look like a little girl dressing up in her mummy's clothes - she looks like a confident young lady (sob!) 12 years old and can wear my shoes (must hide the expensive ones!) She looks at least 16 :(

I can't believe its Thursday already, at least I don't have to go back to work until Monday!

I have to do some Dr Who ATCs but I am having difficulty choosing a Dr - I think it will be No 2 - Patrick Troughton was always my favourite, I remember as a kid being quietly annoyed that John Pertwee discareded the recorder - for those of us who HAD to do the recorder at school it made it slightly less dorky...

I have finally gotten around to doing the 4 months worth of scrapping I should have started in April. Its a free class on Shimelle.com, Well when I say free I had to pay for the kit....

The idea is that you pick one day a month (the 25th for obvious reasons) and scrap your day every month. Now I took the photos in April and May and couldn't be arsed in June and in July it was the first friday of the school holidays so I made the kids and richard go to Oxleas Woods and took loads of pictures. I will be putting them up on facebook later if I get the chance!

So for June I was left sitting staring at blank paper so I used the photos from Richards Aunt and Uncles 60th Wedding Anniversary (at least I know I will be way dead before we reach that level!) so there is an entry and I am going to force myself to take the pictures and do the scrapping the next day otherwise it ain't gonna get done!.

Also I have ear ache :(

Im suppoed to be completing a page in a circle journal today but I can't be bothered! I have already used the excuse of "ohh I haven't seen this for ages" and watched the musical Rent on Sky, followed by Stepping Out (must be musicals day or something) and then having to fix the computer. I don't know what Joe did but I had to reset everything and its not got anything saved on it since yesterday morning which is a bit of a bind because I had cleaned up about 50 photos last night. Ah well

Yesterday I was supposd to go out for the day and just sat at home instead.

I did make greek meatballs for lunch today with egg and lemon sauce which were quite nice and I have already done the bog for the spag bog tonight - I think I am still full from the meatballs and rosemary potatoes though. Still Bog is like chilli - nice the next day. I think I might just leave doing dinner and see if anyone notices.

Joseph has decided that he wants to help with the washing up so I have removed all the denby from the kitchen and he can break the cheap plates!

Greece - warm in the summer, lovely country and I can speak the langugage, which is always helpful. Good school system for the kids and DH could get a job as a teacher because he speaks way better Greek than me, I would work when I needed to :)

Nice time

Aug. 1st, 2008 | 11:26 am

We went out straight from picking me up from work last night. Landed up near Eynsford at a pub and sat outside to eat, shame about the rain but the umbrella's were big enough that you didn't get wet. The kids loved it, because the Lion has a river right outside its door and it was warm enough for them to paddle and chase fish. Ella tried to pretend she was too cool to run around in the water - that lasted five minutes and then she was running around like a maniac. Unfortuantely i didnt have my camera.

Afterwards we went for a drive and got in just in time for Ella to watch Gok's fashion programme zzzzz

Wall-E

Jul. 31st, 2008 | 08:24 am

Went to see Wall-E as a family on last night (yeay for Orange 2 for 1 Wednesdays!) the very nice kid ion the box office put Ella and Joe's tickets through first so we only paid for the kids - £11 instead of £16! It paid for the popcorn and drink!

God that film goes on for ever. Its very sweet but could have been so much better.

Busy Day

Jul. 25th, 2008 | 09:35 pm
mood: content content

Been a really busy day today.

Its the 25th so I am supposed to be taking pictures of everything for a Shimeele class I am doing, and for once I seem to have more than 5 pictures, my days are quite boring normally.

When I woke up this morning I discovered one of the diamonds is missing out of my engagement ring. As I rarely take it off God only knows where that is :(

We had to be at Ella's Summer School for 8.30 this morning and Richard wanted to go out for Breakfast this morning talk about rush. They were all sitting in their pjs at quarter to 8 and it takes 20 minutes to get anywhere decent to eat breakfast around here.

Still once she was there we went shopping and I consled myself with a coup of Texas's greatest hits and the Rocky Horror CD - its brilliant it has a lot of the spoken dialogue on it as well - the river was wide and I swam it Janet! Crap lunch though, had a bacon and brie pannini which is my fav pannini - cheese was so young it was practically bleating!

I bought some material to make Ella a skirt she wants because its way cheaper than buying it! Naturally I got the wrong size pattern and am now supposed to be making it bigger so its long enough for her legs (they is waaaay to long for a 12 year old!)

When we got Ella on a whim we went to Oxleas park and wandered around for an hour, baking hot but fun, Ella and Joe lost the water fight! - Ice cream was lovely though

When we came home we played on the Singstar - the highlight of the day because I sung Blonde's Heart of Glass and got a score of over 7,500 - which considering I normally sound like a pig under a gate I thought was really good - my rating was LEAD SINGER!!!!!! I think I may have found my kareoke tune!
